Hello everyone – and a special hello to our customers in the UK! It’s that time of year again when I head off to the northern hemisphere to attend the Movers & Storers Show at Silverstone Raceway in Northamptonshire. Silverstone is around two hours drive from our Storman office in Ipswich and is well attended by many who are considering having self storage as part of their removals business.
I was quite delighted to find out that this years organisers were expecting over 1,400 people to come and attend the show! So it was with great anticipation that Chris and I set off to Silverstone.
We arrived at Silverstone and quickly setup our Storman tradeshow stand. Andy had done his usual great job of finding us a terrific spot that overlooked the track and we would be right in line with many peoples view as they entered the tradeshow area. Interestingly, this year we were the only self storage software provider at the show and, as such, were very busy over the show’s two-day duration.
I would like to thank everyone who came and visited us and I think Chris and I spoke to over 100 people who were interested in, or were starting, a self storage business – many of whom couldn’t afford to attend the SSAUK’s recent trade show in Stockholm.
Many of the people who visited our stand were curious about the new features we had on display. Most saw the immediate benefits of having such a system that debits the customer directly and allows the customer to reconcile their accounts quickly and easily.
Surprisingly, the other feature that many were interested in was our Daily Processing module. Many were amazed that we could automate many of the menial tasks – like invoicing and late letter generation. I guess that long-term users of our product just accept that efficiency and move on, but it was nice to be able to offer this as a solution – something that’s been a part of our software for many, many years.
All in all, a great conference! Storman would like to thank the team at Animo Events for turning it on once again. So from all of us in the UK office, until next time… take care – and please enjoy some of the additional photos below. Thank you.
